The B.C. Interior program begins. Manning the controls for G&O Drilling is lead hand and expert driller Oral. Oral brings a gamut of experience with him. A man that has drilled all over the world and back, is the only kind that can make progress in these mountains. The night owl that cross shifts him is Ryan. This young man has learned the right way. Diamond Drilling runs in his blood, from his Dad to his Grandad, Ryan has drilled in some of the toughest area's around. G&O Drilling is pleased to have them both, on our team. |

All machines have now been moved out of Ontario, back to G&O Drilling's new shop in Hay lakes.
|
| |
• |
The first phase of the B.C. project is completed and the job went very well, with noone hurt, or even scratched up. Big Thanks from G&O to all the crew members for a job well done. |
| |
• |
The Drills are under repair at the shop, getting ready for the next Drill program to get underway. Winter is coming so the machines need to be in good shape to keep up. |
| |
• |
Thanks to our trucker Mike for the good job done on our equipment being moved around the Country, from province to province. Thanks also the great attitude toward safety Mike has displayed and for keeping us on budget. |
| |
| AUGUST |
• |
G&O Drilling would like to acknowledge all the miles and miles that Mike has put on to keep the company turning and moving ahead. This man has literally put on thousands of miles moving men and equipment. From Ontario to British Columbia, in weather '"a muck" and many treacherous roads. Mike performs like the ole' saying, "Nor rain, nor snow..." G&O Drilling would like to say again, Thanks. |
| |
• |
The men under Darryl's direction hit very tricky ground... Voids, cavities, gravel, sand, clay, etc. Is this really Beautiful British Columbia? The men continue to "make hole" in the worst of the worst conditions. Good job boys, and "hats off" again, Darryl for your patience and watchful eye. This contract is bound to bring more references.
|
| |
• |
G&O Drilling, shop engineer Jerry delegates his responsibilities from shop to yard. And wow look at the difference.
|
| |
• |
Once again G&O Drilling has supported a grand event, in the spirit of good cheer, G&O Drilling proudly sponsored a discrete couple by providing a "beer gardens" and "hall" with all the amenities. G&O President Gord was on hand for the event.
|
| |
• |
Gord continues talks with local investors, as G&O Drilling gets ready for it's next step toward growth.
|
| |
• |
It is a real juggling act but where to, when we finnish in B.C.? Gord negotiates Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec and U.S.A for it's next contract. |
| |
| JULY |
• |
Hard rock Captain Darryl, and his merry men are on their way to Beautiful British Columbia. The new contract brings many rewards, and challenges. We look forward to more work through positive references. And we want to take the time to say, "thank you" to the Mining Company for choosing G&O Diamond Drilling. |
| |
• |
It is quite at the Ontario Branch, and it gives the staff at the G&O Drilling branch an opportunity to catch up, and tidy up. As we speak we can see Pete hustling about. |
| |
• |
Office Manager Kandal, has continued to direct affairs in an assertive matter. As a result G&O's President Gord, Branch Manager Reynard and Account Manager Pauline would like to say, "Kandal your hard work, long hours, attention to detail and diligence has never been overlooked. Thanks for helping direct this ship." |
| |
• |
Recently G&O Drilling has supported a small engine race shop in the tourist town of Sylvan Lake, Alberta by donating funds and materials. G&O Drilling has proudly supported such causes because of it's belief in the supporting of small business and keeping dreams alive. G&O Drilling would like to say, "Go team go!" to the likes of "Krazy Karts" in Sylvan Lake, Alberta. |
| |
• |
Work, work and more work makes G&O President Gord a complete man. The President contemplates a branch in the land of the free, the good ole' U.S.A. Contacts from our Southern neighbor, beat on the G&O Drilling door looking for more manufacturing and rig support, the question we ask, "How much more?" Time will tell how this unfolds, stay posted. |
| |
• |
We tip our hat to Jerry, shop engineer, every thing is looking very good. The new shop is up, but not yet functional. The anticipation is killing us. Stay posted. |
| |
| JUNE |
• |
G&O Diamond Drilling's new shop is up, and standing proud! The new shop has a European French design, with a real North American toughness to it. G&O Diamond Drilling hopes to see many successful years yield in this facility. Shop engineer Jerry, can be found hustling around, hour on the hour. We would like to thank Jerry for bringing out the likes of James and his contribution to the erecting of the new building. |
| |
• |
It has been busy around Headquarters. Spring clean up is turning into Summer clean up... As the new Shop Headquarters went up, the yard followed. Everyone welcomes the company face lift. |
| |
• |
Gord is still visiting our Ontario Branch, and getting right into the thick of things. Everyone at headquarters is waiting with "baited breath" for his return. The President has not had the chance to see the new facility, or the yard. We wonder if he will drive by and not even recognise the property? |
| |
• |
The boys are "chomping at the bit" to start back drilling. As we wait patiently for the mining company to direct the next move. The break has been welcomed with mixed feelings. Who would have guessed these men would rather be next to those screaming Jimmys, then there domestic surroundings. The world has it's mysteries. |
| |
| MAY |
• |
G&O Drillings President Gord, prepares to visit our Ontario Branch. Reports of Paradise conditions have been chronicled... Branch Manager, Reynard asks the age ole' question, "Is the grass greener on the other side?" |
| |
• |
Headquarters pens up a new contract, for our Custom Super 38. This rig is suspected to start, "maken' hole" in the near future. As signatures scrawl across the bottom of the page the handshakes and the nods follow. Expect G&O Drillings best to please. |
| |
• |
G&O Drilling would like to take this moment to thank all of their suppliers and the men and woman that, make it happen. Without the likes of you, G&O Drilling would not be the success that it is today. |
| |
• |
A special welcome goes out to Kandal. A familiar face to the company. Our new office manager, Kandal worked with G&O Drilling before and has now returned. Her tenacious spirit, diplomatic ways, and consistent effort make her a real asset to the company. Welcome aboard kiddo! |
| |
• |
Weather "a-muck"! The boys need more moral support. Under the watchful eye's of our foreman the rig moves are tough and it reminds us, that in the field of Diamond Drilling, a man cannot be lacking spirit. G&O Diamond Drilling would like to proudly mention, "We have the best!" |
| |
• |
Progress on the new Super 4000 are at a high. At any time of the day smoke can be seen billowing out of the shop. And just like a wizard out of a fantasy book, G&O Drilling's head mechanic Russell can be seen immerging out of the roll up door with welding rod in hand. Keep up the good work Russell. The new rig looks as though it is coming along great. |
| |
| APRIL |
• |
Lots of life around G&O Drilling Headquarters as of late. The new Rig construction has been starting and is gobbling up the time, energy and resources. It is very exciting to see this new project go together. G&O Drilling has already entertained bids for this new rig. Now that is a compliment! |
| |
• |
Headquarters has it's competition as well. G&O Drillings very own Ontario branch in Dryden, is alive with energy and new faces. G&O Drilling welcomes the growth, and looks with fondness to what the future has in store. |
| |
• |
As for the 25A, and its merry men. The rig just keeps turning and turning and turning... |
|
| MARCH |
• |
Steve and the boys wrap up a very tough job, in the Red Lake area. Everybody from G&O Drilling would like to say, thanks to the Mining Company and all the staff that helped make it a success. Not every drilling job demands as much dedication as this last one. We would welcome the challenge again in the future. |
| |
• |
Tough month for Steve, and the Custom Super 38, in-between the weather and the hole, we wanted to say "keep your chin up." It can only get better...
|
| |
• |
The 25A is turning an absolute success! Over 300' a shift, the Driller to beat, Big Ole' Dave. Dave has earned the Serengeti Italian Sunglasses, the Company leather jacket, the company custom watch, and is Drilling his way to the company chain saw. Will there be anything left on the company shelves? |
| |
• |
The Drawing board has become a reality. The Steel is on order and Russell, G&O Drillings head mechanic, is starting to piece a new Super 4000 all Hydraulic Rig back together. Everyone is patiently waiting for the outcome. Stay posted. |
| |
• |
G&O Drilling would like to take this moment to send our thoughts, during this tough time for Dave and his family.
The office still lacks Gords presence, our founder has decided to head back, and support Dave and his family in whatever way G&O Drilling can. |
| |
• |
With the mention of the rebuilding of the Super 4000, the contracts have been pouring in. We would like to bring to the attention of all Mining Companies, that this Rig has not been completed yet. Though we feel that it would be appropriate to say, Thank you all for considering G&O Diamond Drilling. We hope to talk further on business relations in the near future. |
| |
• |
With the environment being a big issue. G&O Drilling is utilizing it's Custom, Cuttings Control Tank. This is an Tank that helps run a closed system, and gathers the solids for proper disposal. Look at the photo gallery for more details, and also read our environment page. |
| |
| FEBRUARY |
• |
It has been very quite around the office, but as for the field, the Rigs are a buzz. G&O Drilling asks the age ole' question. "Is it good to be busy?" |
| |
• |
G&O Drillings Custom Super 38 is headed toward the ice and onto the lake. The staff at G&O Drilling hope the best in this new venture. |
| |
• |
Hard Rock Captain, Daryl fine tunes the 25A and prepares, his Rig for some tricky terrain. The change of scenery will bring new challenges for G&O Drilling.
|
| |
• |
G&O Drilling goes to the drawing board to redesign The Super 4000, in an attempt to resurrect the former deep hole Champion. The drafting team will be busy for the next number of weeks, working ever so closely with our engineering department. |
| |
• |
Company face and founder Gord, leaves the office to get closer to the action. The man behind all the action will be reviewing contracts, crews, and job sites making sure that everything is done to his expectation. The office does not envy the field hands at all. In fact we would like to say, "Have fun!" |
| |
• |
As Daryl gets to the bottom of his resumes, and forms his crews, we wish him the best for March. |
| |
| JANUARY |
• |
The New Year has brought more than just cold weather to G&O Headquarters. As a fire ravaged one of our shops and our Deep Hole Rig. There has been little to no time to mourn the loss, as our staff started to clean up the debris, and attempt to save what is salvageable. |
| |
• |
G&O Drilling goes to the drawing board, to build a new state of the art facility. The Company President Gord is currently in negotiations. We will stay posted as to what materializes. |
| |
• |
In an effort to stay ahead of the competition, G&O Drillings Engineering team, has created a Environmentally friendly, Cuttings Control System. This contained system, built with a Shaker, Floc, Settling, and Agitation compartments. Has a 3-way set up, with a built with a shaker to be utilized on Environmentally sensitive programs. This Cuttings Control System is able to collect all the Solids and properly dispose of them. Check our photos page for this Tank. |

| |

It was time to leave the Colorado Project, and G&O Drilling would like to thank all the Men that made it happen from the Mining Company. It was a pleasure to get to know you and work in such a challenging environment. |

As for the Super 38's "maiden voyage" a job well done is in order. The many hours that Russel applied to the construction and fabrication has paid off. G&O Drilling was really pleased with its steady performance. Note from our President Gord, "That's good iron." |

From the Management staff at G&O Diamond Drilling, Thank you Dropsey. |
